What does the ROLE entail?
* Provide a courteous and professional service at all times;
* Handle guest and employee enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst providing a prompt follow-up;
* Carry out and complete all maintenance work/requests according to the established schedule and ensure high quality of finishing work;
* Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance work.
* Resolving technical issues in hotel rooms and public areas.
* Checking and maintaining technical systems.
* Identifying areas for improvement and contributing ideas for solutions.
* Collaborating with colleagues and external suppliers.
* Operate assigned machines/equipment to provide continuous and consistent utilities required for operations;
* Avoid unsightly hazards and complies with all local regulations and codes;
* Perform repairs of all furniture and furnishings;
* Carry out all painting related maintenance related to external and internal walls and all furniture, furnishings, equipment or any other products as specified by your leaders;
* Submit request to the Assistant Engineering Manager for the purchases of parts and consumables;
* Ensure cleanliness of all work areas and protects the surroundings when executing duties;
* Ensure fire, life and safety systems are operational;
* Perform emergency procedures relating to fire, life and safety; e.g., such as attending to fire alarms, lift rescue;
* Ensure timely completion of work orders and preventive maintenance tasks;
* Report any abnormal conditions noticed at any time in line with safety related equipment or installation to the Assistant Engineering Manager;
* Read and understand control circuits to rectify electrical circuit faults and equipment;
* Recognize and identify areas of hazard that require to be reported to management;
* Maintain strong, professional relationship with relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners and other organizations;
* Respond to changes in the Engineering function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
