Role Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Underwriter to join our Maidstone Commercial Branch, in our Motor Fleet team. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 years insurance experience. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days in the Maidstone office.

You will play an active role in contributing towards the delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the branch account, underwriting Commercial business & building strong relationships with both internal & external customers.

Our Underwriter's handle Commercial Insurance, upholding technically excellent underwriting standards & delivering excellent customer service to our brokers.

Key Responsibilities

* Providing excellent service to our customers

* To build and develop successful Broker relationships

* To be visible in the local market with brokers and end customers

* To develop business relationships with key clients

* To achieve agreed financial and operational performance targets

* To collaborate strongly with other departments to achieve the Company's goals in respect of service delivery

Skills & Experience

* Experience in underwriting is preferred

* Passionate about your own development

* Excellent relationship management skills

* Practical knowledge of MS Office and MS Outlook

* Good Numerical and verbal reasoning skills

* Excellent verbal influencing and trading skills

* An understanding of the general insurance market
