The Position

At Roche, our network is the backbone of our innovation, connecting researchers, labs, and offices across the globe. As a Solution Architect, you will be the visionary behind the systems that ensure our global teams can collaborate on life-saving medicine without interruption.
You will lead the architectural direction for the Network Management Services, sitting at the heart of Roche's infrastructure strategy. Your role is to ensure observability is a strategic requirement that transforms raw data into operational intelligence. You won't just manage tools; you will design the blueprints for how our global network is monitored and optimized.

Main Responsibilities
* Strategic Architecture: Define the long-term roadmap and architectural standards for our observability stack, ensuring LogicMonitor, ThousandEyes, and LiveNX scale across a massive global footprint.
* Data Strategy & Governance: Design integrated frameworks for data extraction using SNMP, APIs, and streaming telemetry to ensure a unified "source of truth" across the enterprise.
* Infrastructure Design: Oversee the architectural health of our Linux-based monitoring infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration between commercial and open-source tools.
* Innovation Leadership: Lead the evaluation and prototyping of emerging technologies and open-source tools (e.g., Grafana) to keep Roche at the forefront of industry trends.
* Operational Excellence: Architect proactive solutions and automated workflows that identify bottlenecks and anomalies to systematically reduce Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) across the global network.

What you will bring:
* Experience: 5+ years across Network Operations, SRE, or DevOps environments with a proven track record in system design.
* Technical Leadership: Deep proficiency in Linux/Unix and the ability to architect complex automation workflows using Python or Ansible.
* Connectivity Mastery: Expert-level understanding of global connectivity technologies (CCNP/CCIE level or equivalent experience).
* Platform Vision: Extensive experience designing modern observability platforms that transform raw telemetry into actionable signals, directly linking network performance to end-user experience and technical KPI fulfillment.
* Data Integration Expertise: Demonstrated success in designing API-based data collection methods and integrating disparate data sources into executive-level unified dashboards.
