The Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering and Test Capability (SE&TC) Center seeks talented Systems Engineer II. Our team located in Atlanta, Georgia integrates hardware and software, develops test plans and procedures, debugs and evaluates system functions and interfaces, and verifies system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab and in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. Every day is a different set of challenges to overcome. You'll be expected to collaborate across disciplines and partner to implement solutions
In this role, you'll get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together supporting teams of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts. This position is an onsite role in Atlanta, Georgia
What You Will Do:
* Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in signal processing design
* Create or modify existing electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms
* Develop and execute test plans, including test simulations and lab tests to verify system capability
* Evaluate and assess functional performance of developmental RF systems, including signal processing subsystems, and firmware/control algorithms.
Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Troubleshoot Test activities in our labs and in the field
* Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment
Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB
* Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
Maintain engineering specifications and drawings
* Provide technical guidance and support to Engineering Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs)
* Participate in periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, working group meetings
* Support associated with implementing process requirements
*
Travel is minimal and expected to stay under 20%.
Qualifications You Must Have:
* Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Physics) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience supporting electronic warfare product development, engineering testing, integration and flight-testing, production, system deployment, and post deployment support across the product lifecycle.
* Experience troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
* The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
* RF system design, digital and analog signal processing, waveform and signal modulation characteristics and analysis, and/or algorithm implementation and testing.
* Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols
* Experience in integrating software and firmware into electronic hardware systems
* Read and integrate software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferred

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
