Danone's Research & Innovation (R&I) center, located in Gif-sur-Yvette on the Saclay plateau, is a global center of excellence dedicated to food innovation. This state-of-the-art center is at the heart of one of the largest international scientific clusters. It houses more than 500 experts from 40 nationalities passionate about life sciences, nutrition, consumer experience, pilots, and product design. The Medical & Nutritional Science (M&NS) department is hiring an Impact program Principal Scientist in the Nutrition & Scientific Affairs team, reporting to the Nutrition Director. The position is based in Gif-sur-Yvette on the Saclay plateau at the Danone Global Research & Innovation Center Daniel Carasso, which is at the heart of Danone's Research & Innovation. The center comprises state-of-the-art laboratories and pilot workshops, with employees working collectively to innovate on dairy and plant products, waters, and specialized nutrition for the future.
The M&NS department aims to create value and growth opportunities for Danone around Nutrition and/or Health. The department includes teams based in the Netherlands (Utrecht), France (Gif-sur-Yvette), and Singapore.
ROLE PURPOSE
The maternity cover will ensure continuity and momentum for Danone's global health impact agenda, with a particular focus on Iron Impact, the DIJ 2030 Iron KPI, external recognition, strategic partnerships and the exploration of future health impact platforms.
Sitting within the Global Nutrition & Scientific Affairs team, the role connects nutrition science, public health priorities, health affairs, stakeholder engagement and business relevance. The person will help progress existing workstreams, support execution of priority deliverables, and ensure that Danone's contribution to health through food continues to be translated into credible proof points, partnerships and scalable impact models.
CORE MISSION
To maintain and advance Danone's health impact agenda by ensuring strong ownership of the DIJ 2030 Iron KPI, progressing Iron Impact recognition and partnerships, and supporting the exploration of future health impact opportunities.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
* Own and coordinate the Danone impact journey (DIJ) 2030 Iron KPI delivery framework
Ensure continuity of the DIJ 2030 Iron KPI as a flagship health impact commitment.
* Steer the KPI long-term roadmap (2027-2030), manage related risks, opportunities, and internal stakeholder engagement
* Drive annual target delivery via local market engagement and tracking, forecasts, and global governance animation.
* Ensure methodology consistency, data quality, and audit readiness.
* Coordinate internal and external reporting and own the iron audit process & outcomes.

* Progress recognition of Danone impact journey (DIJ) Healthand external engagement
Continue building Danone's external visibility and credibility as a contributor to health through food.
* Support the development of Danone's external engagement approach for the DIJ Health agenda, helping build visibility, credibility and recognition of Danone's role in health through food.
* Progress relevant health forums and engagement opportunities for the broader DIJ Health agenda, building on and advancing existing work around health impact.
* Use priority health moments strategically to reinforce DIJ Health positioning, and champion Danone's iron agenda & achievements.
* Support activation of the Iron Impact Report following launch and manage existing IronUp external assets.
* Support exploration of partnership opportunities linked to DIJ Health, including where relevant the iron agenda.

* SupportHealth & Nutrition priorities
Provide support to the team on the global health & nutrition roadmap
* Cross-functional coordination of nutrition projects/topics
* Management of scientific alignments

CANDIDATE PROFILE 
Experience and background 
The ideal candidate will have experience in health and nutrition, corporate affairs, partnerships and/or health impact strategy, ideally in a global food, health, consumer goods, NGO, public health or international organization context. 
They should be comfortable working at the intersection of health, science, strategy, stakeholder engagement and operational delivery. 
Key capabilities 
* Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to translate broad health ambitions into clear priorities and actionable plans.  
* Understanding of nutrition, public health, prevention, and health impact, especially in child (mal)nutrition.  
* Strong capability in managing complex programs across both short- and long-term horizons to ensure target delivery.  
* Ability to lead complex, cross-functional and distributed projects, and governance across global and local teams.  
* Excellent communication (written and oral) and influencing skills.  
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, both internally and externally.  
* Partnership mindset, with the ability to identify shared value and translate discussions into concrete outcomes.  
* Comfortable representing the organization externally, including networking and external communication.
