The Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges. We work closely with our customers' engineers to jointly develop code for cloud-based solutions that can accelerate their organization. We work in collaboration with (COMPANY NAME) product teams, partners, and open-source communities to empower our customers to do more with the cloud. We develop solutions side-by-side with our customers through collaborative innovation to solve their challenges. This work involves the development of broadly applicable, high-impact solution patterns and open-source software assets that contribute to the (COMPANY NAME) platform. In this role, you will be working with engineers from your team and our customers' teams to apply your skills, perspectives, and creativity to grow as engineers and help solve our customers' toughest challenges.
We are hiring a Principal Software Engineering Manager with deep experience and expertise leading teams who design and deliver solutions using modern software engineering practices and cloud technologies. You and your team will work together to solve exciting business problems, contribute to open source, and collaborate with (COMPANY NAME) product teams. You will mentor and coach leads and engineers across our team, sharing your expertise and learning from them too. You will enable the engineers on your team to apply their skills, creativity, and aspirations to benefit our customers and advance their careers.

* Leading and mentoring 3-4 engineering leads and their teams.
* Partnering with technical program management and other teams to successfully nurture, plan, and deliver engagements that build trust and expand Azure expertise with our customers.
* Exhibiting hands-on technical leadership with your team and our customers, the broader ISE organisation, (COMPANY NAME) product teams, and the open-source community.
* Giving thoughtful feedback, nurturing an inclusive engineering environment, championing engineering fundamentals, and providing clarity and mentorship for team members.
* Continuously building your technical knowledge and improving our ability to deliver quality solutions by evolving our engineering process and technical capabilities.

Requerimientos del candidato/a:

Required Qualifications: 
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND proven technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
* OR equivalent experience
* Demonstrated people management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates with the demonstrated ability to deliver on the responsibilities below:
* Manage managers, or managing multiple software development teams
* Strong design and coding skills with a bias for architecture at scale, grounded in engineering fundamentals
* Work with customers and collaborate across company boundaries
* Knowledge of (COMPANY NAME) Azure, AWS, or similar cloud computing platforms
* Strong service delivery experience including architecture, coding, and building online services
* Lead geographically dispersed, diverse, and virtual teams
* Industry experience in Manufacturing, Energy, Automotive or related industry
* Demonstrated proficiency of GenAI
* Enjoy travel and are comfortable with potential future travel up to 25%
