As an EKS Platform Enablement Engineer, you help hundreds of NN engineers build and run their software more easily, safely and efficiently. You don't just work on a platform, you help people adopt, understand and embrace it.

By enabling teams to use Kubernetes in a smart and scalable way, you directly contribute to NN's ambition to work more platform-driven. This allows our engineers to focus on what really matters: developing reliable digital products that support millions of customers every day.

This is a freelance assignment for 40 hour per week until the end of the year.

What you are going to do
As a Kubernetes (EKS) Platform Enablement Engineer, you help NN's engineers to build, deploy and run their applications smoothly on our Kubernetes platforms. You combine hands-on engineering with close collaboration, helping teams understand, adopt and use the platform effectively. By lowering technical barriers and simplifying complexity, your work helps create a scalable and future-proof IT foundation that benefits the entire organisation.

Key responsibilities:
* Enable and support development teams in using Kubernetes for their microservices, for example, by guiding onboarding, migrations and containerisation efforts
* Act as a point of contact for internal engineers, answering questions, giving advice and actively helping teams adopt platform engineering best practices
* Develop and maintain Kubernetes platform add-ons using GitOps processes and CNCF technologies, improving usability, security and time-to-market
* Continuously simplify platform design and usage, helping reduce operational complexity and infrastructure costs across NN

Who you are
You are an outgoing and approachable engineer who enjoys working closely with others. You feel comfortable being visible within the organisation and representing your team to internal stakeholders. Enabling colleagues, sharing knowledge and helping teams adopt new ways of working gives you energy. You are curious, open to experimentation and motivated to continue learning in an international, fast-paced environment. You also have:
* Experience with cloud-native and CNCF technologies such as ArgoCD, Crossplane or similar tools (must have)
* Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in a corporate or enterprise environment
* Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS (EKS) and/or Azure (AKS)
* Programming experience in modern programming languages such as Go and/or TypeScript
* Experience working in an agile, DevOps or platform engineering context

Who you'll work with
You will work with the Kubernetes Enablement Team, part of NN's Engineering Experience & Platforms domain. The team consists of a small group of platform and enablement engineers who work closely together and with development teams across NN. You collaborate daily with internal engineers, product teams and other platform teams such as CI/CD and Internal Developer Platform. The atmosphere is open, collaborative and hands-on, with a strong focus on knowledge sharing, ownership and helping others succeed.
