We are currently looking for a Lease Accounting Manager to join us in Budapest.
In this role you will act as the primary point of contact for IFRS 16 lease accounting and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This includes oversight of contract management, group close, reporting activities and audit support. The role also provides expert accounting advisory on complex scenarios, technical assistance to end users and project support during system (Nakisa) upgrades.
You will work closely with Businesses, Finance team, Controllers, auditors, central and policy team related to IFRS16 lease contracts to ensure the completeness of books, and group reports.
Key Accountabilities:
* Ensure financial integrity, complete and accurate application of the Group Reporting Manual, local legislation and Statutory and Tax Reporting, including consultation, documentation, and approval from Accounting Policy.
* Serve as an expert/advisor leveraging on deep technical and accounting policy knowledge and support team and businesses to understand contracts, numbers, Group reporting and offer challenge to end users for treatment (as relevant).
* Drive acceleration in innovation through influencing process and applying new technologies for value generation.
* Deliver timely and accurate Group Accounts submissions.
* Establish and monitor operational and strategic KPIs to measure performance and improve outcomes.
* Translate, implement and operate bp's control framework effectively.
* Ensure full compliance with Balance Sheet Integrity standards and provide accurate, timely reporting.
* Partner with the Internal Control team to maintain control documentation, oversee evidence capture in SNOW IRM, and assist internal and external audit activities.
* Provide technical Nakisa and project support on specific scenarios (upgrade, remediation of errors), ensuring smooth adoption and implementation.
* Support prioritization and monitor the delivery of IFRS16 operational and support activities.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
* Foster an environment where issues are openly raised, owned, addressed and used for organizational learning.
* Provide constructive feedback and coaching to finance teams to build capabilities, develop competencies, and support professional growth.
* Direct and indirect people management, as required.
Essential Experience & Job Requirements:
* Recognised accounting qualification - University degree or certificate (ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
* Fluency in "business English" is mandatory.
* Previous experience with managing global finance operational teams.
* Strong technical accounting expertise and familiarity with system architecture and design.
* Innovation and change management competencies.
* Ability to manage conflicting priorities with a strong track record of delivery against tight deadlines.
* Strong communication and cooperation skills.
Desirable Criteria:
* Significant relevant Finance and Accounting experience.
* Strong understanding of systems and data manipulation techniques, especially SAP.
* Proven track record in interacting and influencing people at all levels in the organisation, building strong relationships quickly.
* Able to coach individuals and teams in order to improve capability.
* Experience in indirectly managing teams.
