Role Overview
This role is a key part of the finance function, supporting month-end reporting, managing debtors, credit control, and purchasing, as well as leading operational improvement initiatives. The role involves close collaboration with the Commercial Finance Manager, Financial Accountant, and wider management team to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities
Financial Reporting:
* Process month-end journals, including revenue, cost of goods, overheads, and stock, adhering to a strict Day 2 deadline.
* Support the IBH Financial Accountant in preparing monthly Management Accounts, including KPI and performance reports.
* Provide finance support to the wider management team and address ad hoc queries.
* Maintain an in-depth understanding of cash processes and controls; support the cash administrator as required.
* Reconcile revenue and cash/card receipts to front-end Retail and Ticketing systems.
Debtors / Credit Control:
* Proactively manage debt collection to ensure timely recovery.
* Prepare monthly debtor ledger reviews, including aged analysis, for discussion with the Financial Accountant and Commercial Finance Manager.
* Ensure all debtor processes are efficient, streamlined, and CARM (Internal Controls & Risk Management) compliant, including invoicing, payment allocation, and account reconciliation.
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
Creditors / Accounts Payable:
* Manage the accounts payable process, including Purchase Orders (POs), supporting budget owners, and resolving invoicing issues in compliance with Diageo processes.
* Oversee key creditor accounts and make P-card payments as required.
Other Responsibilities:
* Drive continuous improvement around controls, processes, and efficiency.
* Partner with budget owners to help manage and control costs.
* Conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
* Support statutory audit queries.
* Assist with finance administration for the GSH bottle shop.
* Support testing and implementation of new systems.
* Contribute to the CARM and Compliance agenda.
About you
* Experience in month-end processes, journal entries, and financial analysis, including P&L preparation.
* Thorough understanding of cash handling, reconciliation, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes.
* Experience in balance sheet reconciliations and management.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally.
* Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
* Good working knowledge of IT systems in a multi-retail environment and/or visitor experience.
* Finance degree, part-qualified with a professional accountancy body, or other relevant finance qualification.
* Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in an analytical finance role.
* Open to learning and growth, with the potential to develop further in the role.
* Ability to bring additional skills and experiences that enhance the role beyond the listed requirements.
