About the Tax Transformation Team

Tax Transformation works with the business and enabling functions of both the Tax practice and firm (BES) (XLOS teams) to deliver a changing operating model to secure the future of the practice through sustained profitable growth. The scale of transformation is significant and ongoing, impacting all areas of the tax practice.

The Opportunity

This is a permanent role in the Tax practice, ultimately reporting into the Tax Transformation Partner with immediate reporting lines into the Directors on the transformation team.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is passionate about transformation and the role technology can play to advance transformation and is motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible impact. You will work closely with the transformation director on assigned work streams with the ability to influence the design and direction of the programmes. You will also work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to support and drive progress, solve problems, and deliver measurable outcomes.

Driving Change

The scale of transformation impacts all areas of the Tax practice. The advancements of AI and other Emerging technologies as well as changing demographics and impact on labour supply means that the Tax practice needs to transform to stay competitive and relevant to our clients. The key objective for the Tax Transformation team is to transform our operating and delivery model to build a sustainable tax practice for the long term. AI, data, other automation and technology, offshore and onshore centers of excellence are all enablers that should feature in a redesigned delivery model for the Tax practice. By extension, the successful adoption of these enablers will have an impact on our people, evolved skills, and our people model. For our people; they will impact the skills they will need to be successful in this new operating model. This role in the Tax Transformation team requires an ability to move between technology, transformation, comms and change management workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the transformation directors to design and deliver defined workstreams within broader transformation programmes, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and timely delivery.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across Tax, Finance, Technology, and other enabling functions to design and implement process improvements.
* Support the development and execution of change management plans, including communications, training, and stakeholder engagement.
* Support the presentation and communication of the transformation plans to appropriate audiences, sometimes senior stakeholders, and sometimes peer groups.
* Use data and insights to inform decision-making, track progress, and evaluate the effectiveness of transformation initiatives. Proficiency in advanced analytics and visualisation tools an advantage.
* Contribute to the preparation of business cases, project plans, and materials for leadership review.
* Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.
* Operate with a commercial mindset, understanding the broader business context and client impact.
* Actively contribute to the development of others through coaching, feedback, and knowledge sharing
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Transferable skills required for this role

You are expected to:
* Solve through complexity, ask thoughtful questions, and clearly communicate how things fit together.
* Apply sound judgment, recognising when to take action and when to escalate to transformation directors.
* Have a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes.
* Operate with a commercial mindset, understanding the broader business context and client impact.
* Proficiency in digital tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, or other advanced analytics or visualisation tools would be advantageous.
