You will lead & manage the recruiting effort for a key, fast-growing priority location for McKinsey.
You will provide strategic leadership for a large complex team and manage major initiatives for recruiting efforts across the Japan consulting office. You will need to be able to 'think out of the box' when faced with the unique challenges in Japan. Most importantly, you will need to have a collaborative working style, with the ability to act as a leadership peer but also to inspire, develop and create a positive team environment for the recruiting team - acting as a coach and mentor.
Key responsibilities include: setting a Talent Attraction (TA) strategy to achieve Japan's hiring targets; serving as a thought partner on TA trends, interventions and innovations to continually improve Japan hiring results; partnering with Japan and Regional leads on hiring goals (targets, mix, profiles, sources) to build and own an end to end TA strategy to deliver them; defining and driving sourcing strategies (Campus and EP) to deliver distinctive hires into Japan; building and leading office strategy for Japan to ensure exceptional candidate relationship building, high quality interviews and differentiated cultivation to close top talent; actively collaborating with Asia TA S&O team and global TA CoE teams (e.g., Assessment, Talent Branding), as well as TA leaders across other regions, to bring best practices to regional hiring approaches and feed innovative local ideas for scaling.
You will also be responsible for building a TA operating model and managing performance to ensure excellence in deliver; translating regional TA strategy into clear priorities and playbooks for Japan to ensure excellence and consistency across frontline delivery teams; developing, cascading and tracking clear KPIs to continually measure performance against Japan and regional TA delivery objectives (e.g., accept rates, cross offer win rates, funnel quality); driving innovation and creating a culture of continuous improvement to ensure playbooks, processes and KPIs adapt to changing competitive or candidate needs; owning regional TA budget, resource allocation, and investments to deliver on regional hiring goals while acting as a strong steward of firm resources.
You will be leading and apprenticing a high performing TA team by: leading the hiring, development and retention of the regional TA delivery team- including hands-on apprenticing for direct reports to build the next generation of TA leaders; owning and continually refining regional TA team structure, role alignment and deployment, and ways of working to deliver on hiring goals and ensure growth and development across the team; you will build succession plans to ensure both continuity within the Japan TA and regular renewal for top performers; and you will lead end to end performance management - including retaining high performers, diagnosing skill gaps and leading targeted interventions to ensure excellence.
You will contribute to the performance and health of the Region and local offices by: building strong regional CSP networks across Japan (especially among Partners) and a culture of engagement and accountability across all colleagues to support recruiting success; building strong relationships with other regional People and firm functions leaders to ensure TA is part of an integrated approach to meeting overall regional people objectives; serving as a role model for local office engagement and ensure TA teams in each location lead the way on in-office presence and apprenticeship.

Requerimientos del candidato/a:
* Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree is preferred
* Demonstrated experience leading a complex recruiting team; previous people management experience, in the recruiting function preferred
* Experience in a professional services firm (e.g. Global partnership) preferred
* Demonstrated passion for recruiting and driving a people mission; presence and credibility with senior leadership; strong problem solving, analytics, and program design skills; excellent coach and people developer; demonstrated leadership and strategic vision.
* Comfort in managing the full lifecycle of recruiting candidates
* Able to cultivate trust-based relationships with partners, peers, vendors and candidates. Strong track record of leadership (formal or informal). Ability to manage relationships with senior and highly demanding stakeholders
* Strong skills in discernment; able to evaluate intellectual depth and problem-solving ability of candidates
* Flexible and comfortable with ambiguity
* Exceptional organizational and administrative skills, at ease with abundance of details and complexity, yet mindful of big picture, ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize them, and carry them out independently
