About the Role
Are you ready to take on the challenge of coordinating complex actuarial and financial development processes in a dynamic, regulated environment? We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Development Process Owner to lead our Release Process Team. This is not a standard development process role-here, you will oversee and harmonise the work of multiple teams: developers, actuaries, and finance professionals, all contributing changes within a single, integrated process.
You'll be responsible for defining, maintaining, and continuously improving the end-to-end development process, ensuring alignment with business objectives and the highest standards of quality and compliance. Your ability to understand intricate financial and actuarial processes-without getting lost in the details-will be key to your success. You'll act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, delivery teams, and IT, fostering clarity, transparency, and continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and communicate the vision for the release process, ensuring alignment with business goals and portfolio strategy.
* Coordinate and integrate the work of several development, actuarial, and finance teams, ensuring seamless delivery of changes within a single process.
* Facilitate prioritisation of features and enablers, balancing customer needs and organisational objectives.
* Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders, delivery teams, and Group Functions IT.
* Own and refine the request backlog, collaborating with Business Analysts and Architects.
* Define and track KPIs, OKRs, and value realisation; support lean budgeting and capacity allocation.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including post-implementation reviews and lessons-learned loops.
* Embed governance and compliance touchpoints, ensuring data governance and adherence to internal/external standards.
* Collaborate with Test Managers, Lead Business Analysts, and Agile Delivery Leads to ensure seamless delivery.
* Participate in agile ceremonies and foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and innovation.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in process ownership, product management, or a similar role within a Lean/Agile environment.
* Strong understanding of SAFe or other scaled agile frameworks.
* Experience coordinating large, multi-disciplinary teams (development, actuarial, finance) and complex processes, ideally in finance or insurance.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and deliver business value.
* Experience with backlog management, metrics/KPIs, and value realisation.
* Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance in a regulated environment (preferably financial services).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to grasp complex financial and actuarial processes at a high level, without needing to dive into every technical detail.
Behaviours & Attributes
* Proactive, collaborative, and outcome-focused.
* Able to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Committed to continuous learning and improvement.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
