Maintenance Operator\/Handyperson  - 12 months fixed term contract - Settle Creamery

We're one of the world's biggest dairy producers. Join us as an engineer at our Settle site and you'll contribute to making food that is loved by millions. Settle is a 24/7 site with c120 people producing UHT and Lactose free milk for UK and Export markets. We are searching for somebody who has a forward thinking mindset that will look to continuously improve systems and ways of working along with developing themselves and others around them.

Key Responsibilities of Role:

As part of the site maintenance team, reporting to the M&E Team Leader, your key responsibilities will be to achieve high levels for maintenance, continuous improvement and area standards.

* Conducts corrective maintenance of building fabrications.

* Routine daily utility checks/operation.

* H&S adhered to and improved across site.

* Permit issuing and contractor control.

* Area standards maintained to audit level.

* Challenges current processes and practices to identify new opportunities.

Specific tasks of the Role:

* Site wide buildings maintenance.

* Providing cover within maintenance sub departments, this to include running of effluent treatment plant.

* Completes and updates plant maintenance records complying with all departmental procedures.

* Assist in requirements for Engineering Fork Lift tasks

Qualifications / Experience Required for the Role:

* Skilled in buildings maintenance.

* Background of maintaining equipment within a services/utilities environment preferable

* Welding advantageous but not critical

* Has to be able to demonstrate competencies in the area of:

* Strong health and safety awareness.

* Excellent hands on skills

* Good oral and written communication skills
