Job Purpose
To work on the lithographic printing machines and assist the No 1 Minders to meet the planned output for quality, volume and yield to customer requirements. To provide support to the department, making sure that the machines have all the correct components required to produce in line with the scheduling system. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the print department and make sure all print consumables are stored correctly.

Job Responsibilities/Key accountabilities:

* Assisting the print minder to make ready and run print presses to meet the required performance and quality standards.
* Work on the press to cover when required.
* Utilise the pile turning equipment.
* Follow work procedures and work to the recognised standards.
* Prepare pallets of paper for use on the machines.
* Maintain a high level of housekeeping to pharmaceutical standards (ISO9001, ISO14001)
* Safely operate the forklift trucks on site.
* Take charge of printer's waste and the recycling of consumables
* Adhere to SHE regulations.
* Ensure that all material and consumables required for efficient running of the press are kept available for use by the Print Minder.
* Clean Chambers from Heidelberg Printing Machines using Cleaning Machines Provided.
* Carry out any other reasonable task as requested once adequately trained.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

Experience:

* Awareness of current SHE legislation/standards.
* Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Pharmaceutical Code of Practice.
* Experience of UV Printing and Folding carton production preferable.

Skills:

* Excellent communication skills.

Qualifications:

* Modern Apprenticeship/C+G standards in Lithography, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

* Self-motivated and able to work using own initiative, while supporting Team members and working to team targets and standards.
* Attention to detail with a focus on high quality standards.
