Descripción del puesto:
The Technical Architect is a hands-on senior engineering leader responsible for designing modern, modular, AI-optimised software systems and guiding engineering teams across the full solution lifecycle. The role combines deep hands-on engineering experience with architectural vision, ensuring that solutions are scalable, resilient, observable, LLM-compatible, and aligned with modern SDLC and AI-era development standards.
You will drive decisions around system decomposition, modularity, interoperability, and domain boundaries, introducing patterns such as Spring Modulith, jMolecule DDD abstractions, event architecture, and AI-assisted SDLC workflows (agents, MCP servers, spec-driven development). You will ensure project structures, documentation, automation, and governance frameworks are optimised for modern LLM-driven development teams.
The goal is to deliver high-quality, maintainable, future-proof enterprise systems and accelerate delivery through AI-native engineering practices.This role requires significant experience as a software developer. The goal is to provide a framework for the development of a software or system that will result in high quality IT solutions.
Role requirements:
AI-Augmented SDLC & Engineering Excellence - Introduce and operationalise AI driven SDLC practices, including:
* Spec driven development (LLM generated specs > code > tests pipelines)
* AI agents for code generation, refactoring, dependency mapping
* MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations to orchestrate AI based tooling in CI/CD
* Automated documentation, architectural decision logs, and design reviews enabled by LLMs
* Define best practices for LLM compatible project structures, ensuring repos, modules, dependency boundaries, and code readability work optimally with AI pair-programmers and automated agents.
Architecture & System Design - design modular, domain aligned architectures using:
* Spring Modulith for enforceable module boundaries
* jMolecule (DDD abstractions) for ubiquitous domain design
* ArchUnit to enforce architecture rules, layering, and dependency policies
* Microservices or Modulith services that expose clean domain APIs for agent consumption
Agents & Autonomous System Components
* Design services and APIs that can be safely consumed by AI agents or orchestration layers, including: well-scoped and side effect safe endpoints, deterministic workflows for agent driven execution, MCP-compatible server modules to integrate runtime environments with AI development tools
Domain Centric & Modular Design
* Define and model domains using DDD (Domain Driven Design) with explicit bounded contexts.
* Use domain events and asynchronous messaging patterns to decouple components and allow autonomous behaviour.
* Evaluate opportunities for event sourced or CQRS patterns where appropriate for auditability and capital markets workflows.
Solution Ownership Through Lifecycle
* Maintain architectural integrity across design, development, testing, deployment, and operations.
* Provide architectural blueprints enriched with architecture-as-code, diagrams-as-code, and LLM readable specifications.
* Drive performance, scalability, resilience, and observability requirements from early design through production rollout.
Collaboration & Leadership - Mentor engineering teams on:
* AI assisted coding practices
* Modular development
Governance & Quality - Define automated architectural guardrails using:
* ArchUnit test suites
* Modulith integration test boundaries
* LLM assisted validation of code and architecture decisions
* Introduce golden project templates optimised for AI-driven engineering teams, including:
* standardised folder structures
* unified testing patterns
* domain-first module boundaries
* internal developer platform integrations
