Position Overview

The Procure to Pay (P2P) Process Product Owner is the global process owner bridging strategic direction and operational execution for the bank's purchasing, invoicing and payments processes. Procurement Services & Support (SPP) retains primacy for defining the P2P strategy and vision, and the Product Owner partners closely with SPP to collaboratively shape and realise that vision. Operating within Global Procurement's end-to-end Product Management framework, the role is responsible for translating the SPP-led P2P strategy into prioritised improvements and executable outcomes that enhance efficiency, compliance and user experience across the P2P value chain. The Product Owner works across functional and regional teams to drive continuous improvement, ensuring that P2P processes are aligned to the broader E2E procurement strategy, control framework and target operating model, and that all changes are impact-assessed and governed within the end-to-end process context. By collaborating with SPP, operations, technology and risk partners, the Product Owner delivers a cohesive, high-performing P2P service that meets both strategic goals and front-line needs.
The Global Procurement (GP) function enables our bank to optimize supplier relationships to meet its strategic objectives by:
* Partnering across the bank to develop and execute strategies to meet our business requirements
* Applying our understanding of the supply market and specialized procurement capabilities to optimize value created
* Enabling the bank to access suppliers by identifying and mitigating vendor risks
* Managing the platforms to enable efficient and compliant purchasing of goods and services
The GP Transformation and Remediation Team underpins and enables the ambitions of GP through partnering and strong alignment across the function to deliver transformation, defining learning & development and unlocking value creation.
Responsibilities:
As Product Owner - P2P, you will be accountable for the end-to-end management and continuous improvement of the P2P process domain, in close partnership with SPP. Key responsibilities include:
* Strategic partnership with SPP: Collaborate with SPP, which holds strategic authority for P2P vision and direction, to co-develop and maintain the P2P target state and roadmap, ensuring alignment with the E2E procurement strategy.
* Translation of strategy into delivery: Translate the agreed P2P strategy into a prioritised product backlog of process and capability improvements, aligned to value, risk and regulatory requirements.
* Backlog ownership and prioritisation: Own and manage the P2P backlog, engaging operations, Finance, Technology and Risk to agree priorities, while ensuring alignment with SPP direction and E2E governance decisions.
* Delivery execution (BAU): Lead the delivery of prioritised P2P improvements that do not require formal CTB funding, coordinating design, testing, rollout and adoption with operational and technology teams.
* CTB initiation and sponsorship: For material changes, partner with SPP and the Procurement Enterprise Transformation (PET) team to shape business cases and initiate CTB programmes, representing P2P as process sponsor.
* E2E impact assessment and governance: Ensure all P2P changes are assessed for upstream and downstream E2E impacts and progressed through appropriate governance forums (e.g. Process Design Authority).
* Performance and controls: Monitor P2P performance, risk and control effectiveness, ensuring ongoing compliance with policy, audit and regulatory expectations.
* Stakeholder engagement: Act as the primary interface between SPP, E2E Product Management and operational teams, ensuring clear communication, alignment and sustained adoption.
Essential experience:
* Proven experience in process ownership, product ownership or product management within a large, complex organisation
* Strong Procure-to-Pay domain knowledge, including purchasing, invoicing and payments, and their integration with sourcing and finance
* Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into executable change, managing prioritisation and delivery of improvements
* Experience operating in a regulated environment, with a solid understanding of controls, risk and audit expectations
* Strong stakeholder management experience in matrixed, global environments
Desirable experience:
* Experience with P2P / procurement platforms (e.g. Ariba, Coupa, ERP-based solutions)
* Exposure to process transformation, workflow orchestration or automation initiatives
* Familiarity with agile or product-centric delivery models in process-led environments
