The opportunity

We are currently looking for our next Functional Safety Engineer with a passion for electric mobility, an interest in technology, and a desire to create the change we know is needed.
Your experience in designing safety specific propulsion solutions would be invaluable to us both in concept work and when working with current designs for increased customer satisfaction.
This position is based at our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work, knowing that both in-person collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. What matters most is that people get the time, and support, to do what needs to be done. And to enjoy doing it, of course.

The responsibilities
Lead the engineering team through the application of ISO 26262 at Item, System and/or Sub-system level. You will be working with experienced teams that design, develop and tune the complete chain of embedded software from the driver's inputs to final motor and brake torque. You will also work with propulsion related nodes to ensure that functional safety solutions are delivered.
* Act as the main engineering customer interface in all questions related to Functional Safety in the propulsion domain
* Develop the deliverables related to propulsion Items and Sub Systems (e.g. establishment of HARA, Functional Safety Concepts, Technical Safety Concepts) and thus ensuring delivery of all associated work products
* Define the safety architecture and the safety mechanisms to fulfill the Safety Goals, FSR and TSR input requirements
* Coach engineering teams to understand the safety concepts and implement these concepts in hardware and software designs.

The ideal candidate

In addition, you'll need the following qualifications:
* M.Sc. degree within electrical or automotive engineering, physics or a similar area
* Experience (5y+) with applying functional safety to automotive drivetrain or propulsion systems
* Experience with automotive system design/development
* Good knowledge of the processes and concepts used in functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508
* Previous experience with Matlab/Simulink advantageous
* Drivers license B
