The Driver Assistance Systems division is responsible for the series development of the safety and comfort innovations of Intelligent Drive technologies. These include Distronic Plus with Steering Assist and Stop&Go Pilot, PreSafe Brake, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Brake Assist PLUS with Intersection Assist and Drive Pilot with highly automated driving.
To ensure the functionality of driver assistance systems, difficult driving situations must be analyzed and the reaction of the system evaluated. These situations can arise from unfavorable combinations of a variety of events from the environment and the system. Examples include road parameters, sensor phenomena or the behavior of other road users.
These events and their characteristics can be described using parameters. This can be used to create a high-dimensional design space that can be searched using modern methods and algorithms for reliability analysis in order to determine the probability of occurrence of difficult situations.
The task of your internship will be to describe relevant scenarios and implement them in the existing simulation environment. You will also help to develop new methods for simulative validation, validate them and apply them directly to the implemented scenarios. You will gain interesting insights into the highly topical field of highly automated driving.
These are some of the challenges you will face:
* Familiarizing yourself with the methodology, processes and tools
* Creating a scenario to describe a driving situation
* Developing criteria for driving situation evaluation and plausibility checks as well as reliability estimation
* Variation of driving situation configuration and function parameterization
* Investigation, evaluation and validation using the example of a driving function
* Documentation and presentation of the developed process and results
* Additionally: operational support in test management

Qualifikationen

* Degree course in computer science, engineering, natural sciences or comparable courses of study
* Ideally previous knowledge of object-oriented programming, Python and SiL applications available
* Confident handling of MS Office
* Proficient in written and spoken German and English
* Interest in and enjoyment of programming
* Basic understanding of simulation and vehicle dynamics is an advantage
* Independent way of working, analytical thinking and strong ability to work in a team
