Working as a summer intern at the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) Listings department offers a unique vantage point into the lifecycle of emerging companies and places you at the heart of the public venture capital ecosystem. The Listings team is responsible for ensuring that companies meeting the Exchange's standards can go public and remain compliant. This role strikes a balance between exposure to public company oversight and forward-thinking operational transformation.
This role reports to: Director, TSXV Listings
This role is hybrid (2-3 days/week in the office) - based in Vancouver, BC.
Key Accountabilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Filing Support
* Filing Review: Assist the Listings team in reviewing at least one high-volume corporate finance submission type (e.g., security based compensation plans and grants, Normal Course Issuer Bids) to ensure they adhere to TSXV Policies and Procedures
* Process Analysis: Consider the life cycle of the submission type review and identify some areas for process and efficiency improvement
* Continuous Disclosure: Develop a foundational understanding of the disclosure obligations of a publicly-listed company, and learn how to review a news release to determine whether the disclosure meets the requirements imposed by TSXV policies
Operational Transformation & Process Efficiency
* Modernization Initiatives: Support the projects and initiatives of the TSXV Transformation Committee through the implementation of digital tools aimed at transitioning legacy manual processes into automated, user-friendly experiences for internal staff and/or listed issuers
* Digital Transformation: Assist in the migration or organization of digital filing systems to improve the efficiency of the "Paper-to-Public" workflow
AI Research & Implementation
* Use-Case Identification: Collaborate with the Listings team to identify high-impact areas for Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications (Google Gemini).
* Benchmarking & Testing: Conduct research on how other global exchanges or regulatory bodies (RegTech) are utilizing AI to maintain market integrity.
* Consistency Analysis: Develop prototypes or logic frameworks for Gemini tools that can help ensure consistent application of TSXV policy across different staff members and regions
TMX Charity Golf Tournament
* Assist the TMX Golf Tournament Planning Committee with preparations for the annual charity golf tournament and be a part of the group of TMX volunteers on the day of the tournament (July 2026)
Must haves:
* Educational Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Business, Data Science, or Law
* Financial Literacy: A basic understanding of capital markets, the public venture capital environment, and how a company goes public
* Software Proficiency: Strong skills in Google Suite of Products, MS Excel, and Word
* Tech Savvy: Strong interest in RegTech and the intersection of public policy and technology
* Analytical Rigor: Ability to synthesize complex legal or financial documents into concise summaries
* Adaptability: A "growth mindset" is necessary for supporting transformation initiatives in a historically traditional industry
Nice to haves:
* Familiarity with AI tools (in particular Google Gemini) is a significant asset
Note:
* 4 month Co-op / Internship: May 4, 2026 - August 28, 2026
* In order to be considered for the position, you are required to submit your Knockri Assessment
Salary Range: 20/hour-25/hour CAD
