Position Description

Tesla is looking for an intern for its unique vehicle infotainment system. You will have the opportunity to work on a Linux-based operating system, developing automotive diagnostic tools and test cases. You will also be responsible for improving the Tesla's infotainment system from various perspectives. This role requires a passion for new technology, being a quick learner, and staying updated with the latest software technologies in the automotive industry.

The Department

The responsibility of Service Engineering, as part of Vehicle Software Engineering, is to provide end to end engineering solution based on customer needs, to improve product's reliability, serviceability, sustainability and to implement changes to the customers based on high iteration speed.

Responsibilities

* Linux-based Infotainment System Diagnostics: Responsible for troubleshooting and performance optimization of Linux-based operating systems.
* Software Development: Engage in software development utilizing Python, shell scripting, and web-based front-end technologies.
* Data Analysis: Work with distributed services for fleet data processing, applying expertise in big data technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, and K8S.

Must Have

Educational Requirements

Holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science (CS), or a related technical field.

Technical Proficiency

* Must: Proficient in Linux, with the ability to navigate and manage the operating system effectively.
* Must: Highly skilled and proficient in Python programming, with the ability to design, develop, and maintain comprehensive applications across the full development lifecycle.
* Must: Familiar with Git for version control, ensuring efficient code management and collaboration.
* Must: Possesses a valid driver's license, required for on-road testing and vehicle assessment.
* Preferred: Knowledge in computer architecture and basic eletrical hardware. Hands-on experiencein USB/Wi-Fi/ 4G/5G technologies or proficiency in PCB-level diagnostics is a plus.
* Preferred: Experienced in React for building dynamic user interfaces and front-end web applications.
* Preferred: Competent in Docker for containerization, demonstrating the ability to deploy and manage containerized applications.

Communication Skills

* Must: Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Internship Duration And Availability

* Priority will be given to candidates who can commit to an internship of 4 months to 6 months
* The position requires the intern to be on board in May or June 2026
