Purchasing/Buyer Intern

Job Description
The Purchasing/Buyer Intern will support the procurement team in daily purchasing activities, ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet production requirements. This internship provides hands-on exposure to supply chain operations within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist buyers in creating and processing purchase orders (POs) in the ERP system.
* Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery schedules, and shipment status.
* Support material planning activities to ensure timely availability of parts.
* Update and maintain procurement records and databases accurately.
* Coordinate with internal teams (planning, warehouse, production) to track material requirements.
* Help resolve basic supply issues such as delivery delays or quantity discrepancies.
* Participate in supplier communication and documentation.
* Assist in data analysis and reporting (e.g., delivery performance, inventory levels).
* Support cost-saving initiatives and sourcing activities where applicable.
* Perform any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the procurement team.

Qualifications & Requirements
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
* Strong interest in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
* Able to based at Batu Kawan Penang
