The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) is a statutory board under Singapore’s Ministry of Digital Development and Information. Founded in 2016 from the merger of IDA and MDA, IMDA champions Singapore's digital transformation by fostering a vibrant digital economy and building an inclusive digital society. IMDA develops programmes, policies, and grants across the infocomm and media sectors, regulates content and telecommunications, and facilitates adoption of emerging technologies such as generative AI and virtual production. IMDA also oversees consumer data protection and administers legislation to combat online falsehoods and manipulation. Through its work, IMDA nurtures local talent, empowers industries, and works to ensure the public's safety in Singapore’s rapidly evolving digital landscape. The authority is headquartered in Singapore and has approximately 800 employees.
