Overview of the Role
At Sage, we're looking for an experienced Employee & Labour Relations Manager to play a key role in supporting organisational change, employee consultation and labour relations activities across Spain and Portugal. This is an opportunity to work at the centre of business transformation, partnering with People teams, Legal colleagues, business leaders and employee representatives to help deliver change effectively, responsibly and in line with local requirements.
You'll bring expertise in labour relations and employee representative engagement, helping to navigate complex consultation processes while building trusted relationships across the business. Overview of the Team
The Global Employee & Labour Relations team supports Sage's approach to employee and labour relations across Europe. The team works in partnership with People teams, Legal partners, business leaders and employee representative bodies to ensure consultation activities are delivered effectively and in accordance with local legal requirements.
As Sage continues to evolve and transform, the team plays a vital role in enabling organisational change, supporting employee representation frameworks and ensuring constructive engagement with works councils and employee representatives across multiple countries.
Office Location
Barcelona, Spain
Hybrid Working - 3 days per week in our Barcelona office and 2 days from home.
What You'll Be Doing;
Works Council & Employee Representative Engagement
* Manage relationships with works councils, employee representatives and union representatives across Spain and Portugal.
* Support consultation and information processes in line with local requirements.
* Prepare consultation materials and coordinate consultation activities.
* Help ensure employee representative forums operate effectively and professionally.
Transformation & Organisational Change
* Support organisational change programmes, restructures and transformation initiatives requiring employee consultation.
* Coordinate consultation plans, timelines and key deliverables.
* Partner with HR, Legal and business leaders to embed employee relations considerations into change programmes.
* Identify, manage and escalate labour relations risks where appropriate.
Labour Relations Advice & Governance
* Provide practical guidance to HR teams and business stakeholders on labour relations matters.
* Support the interpretation and application of labour relations policies and procedures.
* Help resolve employee relations matters involving employee representatives or consultation requirements.
* Maintain consultation records, governance documentation and reporting.
Stakeholder Management & Continuous Improvement
* Build strong relationships with HR leaders, Legal partners and business stakeholders.
* Act as a key point of contact for labour relations activity across allocated countries.
* Facilitate constructive dialogue between management and employee representative groups.
* Contribute to improving labour relations processes, tools and best practices across the organisation.
What We Are Looking For;
We're looking for someone who combines strong employee relations expertise with excellent stakeholder management and organisational skills.
You'll bring:
* Experience within Employee Relations, Labour Relations, HR Business Partnering or a related People function.
* Strong knowledge of employee representation structures, consultation processes and labour relations practices.
* Experience supporting organisational change, transformation or restructuring programmes.
* The ability to build trusted relationships with business leaders, HR teams, Legal partners and employee representatives.
* Strong planning, project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
* Experience supporting consultation activities, works councils, collective consultation processes or representative forums.
* A high level of discretion when handling confidential and sensitive employee-related matters.
* Experience working within a multinational organisation and an understanding of labour relations frameworks within European markets.
* Fluency in Spanish and English. Portuguese language skills would be beneficial but are not essential.
