WSP's Construction Materials Team is growing, and we have opportunity for an Entry Level Construction Materials Engineer to support our Charlotte, NC location. Your Impact

* Perform testing and special inspections related to soils, reinforced concrete, and masonry on general building sites and facilities
*

* Interpret and monitor work procedures as per project plans and specifications for compliance with projects requirements
*

* Interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites
*

* Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities/observations in a timely manner.
*

* Support project management tasks such as scheduling, reports review, budget tracking, invoicing, proposal writing and business development
*

* Mentor early career construction material testing engineers.
*

* Collaborating tasks and supporting cross functional teams.
*

* Work in accordance with Company safety policies
*

* Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
* 0-2 years of Construction Materials Testing experience
* Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
* ACI Field Level I certification (concrete sampling and field testing)
* Valid Driver's License and Good driving History
* Reliability - must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
* Must pass physical, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

Physical Demands 

* Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work
* Ability to stoop, kneel and to routinely lift and carry 50 pounds
* Clean driving record and capable of being insured for driving company vehicles
* Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold
