This job is within the American Airlines Credit Union. The role is responsible for the leading the Member Care team that provides survivor and beneficiary support for deceased accounts, including workflow management, legal compliance, and minimizing losses to the Credit Union.
What you'll do
* Provide strategic leadership and daily administration of the operational functions for settling deceased accounts while providing caring assistance to surviving members and their loved ones
* Implement programs to maximize collection of current beneficiaries and finding solutions when they are not available
* Apply knowledge of regulatory / legal guidelines for handling accounts; interact frequesnly with Credit Union attorneys as many cases are unique and require specific review
* Strive to minimize Credit Union losses, including loan and account losses due to the member's death, depository balances leaving Credit Union; work closely with multiple departments on this goal
* Develop policies and procedures and manage projects to enhance existing system programs, tools and procedures that will improve process automation and productivity as well as minimize the occurrence of errors while maintaining proper controls
* Proactively benchmark with other credit unions each year
* Develop and implement efficient policies and procedures and ensure staff training results in compliance with such
* Maintain a departmental plan for disaster recovery
* Establish monthly/quarterly/annual reports and analyze results and trends, providing reports to senior management as needed
* Prepare departmental budget and monitor expenses
* Perform other duties as assigned
* The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
* ​Bachelor's degree, technical certification or comparable experience in a field applicable to the job
* Experience working in a environment with significant customer/member service exposure and high transactional volumes
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
* Three or more years of experience relevant to the job
* Previous banking or Credit Union experience
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
* ​Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
* Ability to demonstrate superior people management and employee engagement skills, to include directing, coaching, counseling and motivating staff
* Ability to improve organizational and departmental processes to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and controls
* Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff
* Ability work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, continually changing environment
* Ability to be a self-motivated, highly organized and work well independently or with cross-functional project teams
* Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
* Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
