Scope
Based in our Milan Hub, you will manage EMEA import flows, with a specific focus on the Italy-France customs corridor (importing to Italy via French clearance) and UK import operations. Your mission is to act as the regional expert for our Transport Management System (TMS), ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strong collaboration between global strategy and local teams.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & TMS Management
* Import Coordination: Oversee EMEA import flows, specifically managing the complexity of goods entering Italy with customs clearance performed in France, and supervising all UK-bound shipments.
* Booking Optimization: Monitor and refine bookings made by freight forwarders within the TMS to ensure efficiency and cost-control.
* TMS Leadership: Federate local teams to ensure they use the TMS for daily Track & Trace visibility and performance monitoring.
* Support: Act as the daily "go-to" expert for internal TMS users, providing guidance and troubleshooting.
Financial Control & Purchasing
* Invoice Validation: Review and approve transport invoices within the TMS to ensure accuracy against agreed rates.
* Cost Tracking: Monitor transport spending and actively work to reduce costs through smart logistics optimization or price negotiations.
* RFQ Participation: Support the Group's transport Request for Quotation process and help deploy the global purchasing policy via the TMS.
Continuous Improvement & Strategy
* Team Engagement: Build strong relationships with local hubs to better understand their needs and reassure them regarding flow management.
* Performance Monitoring: Implement and track key transportation indicators (KPIs) to drive service quality.
* Network Development: Help develop our strategic freight forwarder base and identify alternative transport solutions to meet business goals.
* Compliance: Stay updated on transport regulations, including Dangerous Goods and evolving customs constraints.
Experience & Requirements
* Expertise: Deep knowledge of international transport (Air/Sea/Road/Express) and complex customs matters.
* Systems: Expertise with ERP system (SAP) and TMS tools.
* Legal Basics: Understanding of transport contract language and Incoterms.
* Soft Skills: Highly organized, rigorous, and result oriented.
* Mobility: Ability to travel.
