About The Role

As a CBRE Data Center Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a data center environment.

This role sits within CBRE's Critical and Technical Services function, responsible for delivering technical maintenance services in mission-critical client environments.

What You'll Do

* Assist with daily site inspections of all mechanical & engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance
* Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe working environment
* Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed
* Work with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with company processes, procedures, and regulations
* Alert management if subcontractor performance does not meet requirements under the Master Service Agreement
* Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment
* Monitor BMS systems and respond to HVAC/cooling-related issues
* Conduct building walkthroughs and take meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities
* Troubleshoot and resolve facility and plant faults and defects
* Follow established processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and perform routine quality checks
* Complete all required training to support successful job performance
* Perform assigned tasks, following clearly defined processes and responsibilities

What You'll Need

* Technical training in a relevant discipline (apprenticeship or equivalent) with 1-2 years of experience
* Mechanical / Cooling (HVAC) competence is required
* Ability to work shift patterns, including weekends and holidays
* Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
* Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues, clients, and management
* Ability to follow structured routines and procedures
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Strong organizational skills with an analytical mindset
* Basic math skills (percentages, simple calculations, etc.)
