The Lead Software Engineer is a technical leader with solid hands-on expertise in React and Node.js (NestJS). This role drives the design and delivery of complex, business-critical systems while mentoring engineers, shaping engineering standards, and fostering a high-performing, inclusive culture. The Lead Software Engineer partners closely with engineering management, product, and senior stakeholders to ensure technology decisions align with long-term organizational and commercial goals.

Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

Technical Leadership
* Lead the technical design and evolution of large-scale, full-stack systems using React, Node.js (NestJS), ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
* Act as a technical authority across teams, setting standards for architecture, code quality, testing, and engineering best practices.
* Drive consistency and reuse by defining and evolving shared patterns, libraries, and frameworks.
* Review and influence technical designs across multiple teams, identifying risks, trade-offs, and opportunities for improvement.
* Translate business strategy and product roadmaps into clear technical direction and execution plans.
* Oversee the breakdown of complex Epics into well-defined technical solutions and delivery plans.
* Mentor and coach engineers at multiple levels, supporting their technical growth.
* Lead by example through hands-on development, code reviews, and collaborative problem solving.
* Foster an inclusive, psychologically safe environment that encourages knowledge sharing, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
* Partner closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Designers, and Architecture teams to align delivery with business outcomes.
* Build strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders, clearly communicating complex technical concepts, risks, and trade-offs.
* Act as a bridge between teams to improve collaboration, reduce dependencies, and improve overall delivery effectiveness.

Delivery & Execution
* Take ownership of critical initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery with minimal oversight.
* Identify and proactively address technical debt, system risks, and scaling challenges.
* Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and practices, driving their adoption where they add clear value.

Qualifications & Experience

* Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
* Extensive professional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, including:
* React (advanced patterns, performance optimization, state management)
* Node.js (NestJS )(API design, modular architecture, security, scalability)
* Strong experience leading technical design and influencing architecture across multiple teams or systems.
* Proven experience mentoring engineers
* Deep understanding of software development lifecycles, agile delivery, and modern engineering practices.
* Strong judgment in applying design patterns and recognizing anti-patterns in complex systems.
* Working knowledge of cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and DevOps practices.
* Experience in regulated or large-scale enterprise environments is a plus.
