Position Overview

DB Global Technology, Deutsche Bank's technology center in Central and Eastern Europe, opened its Bucharest office in January 2014 and is continuously expanding. The team comprises enthusiastic professionals working in an international environment, dedicated to learning new technologies and fundamentally changing how Deutsche Bank operates.

The Private Bank division combines Deutsche Bank's private clients' business in Germany with its international private and commercial clients and Wealth Management. The Private Bank is a key pillar of the Group, known for its capital markets and financing expertise, global network, and modern digital services.

The team you would be joining is part of the Banking & Lending domain within Private Bank and is developing a loan origination platform primarily serving Wealth Management locations globally - High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals client segments. It consists of approximately 90 colleagues worldwide, with 70 based in Bucharest.

Responsibilities
* Act as the legal manager of a team of QA engineers, part of the division TDI Private Bank, in Bucharest.
* Work hands-on as a QAA Engineer in a global environment with distributed delivery teams, developing robust new test suites and maintaining existing automation frameworks.
* Conduct goal-setting sessions, regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career development conversations.
* Guide manual QA engineers through their transition to QAA, including identifying training needs, setting development goals, and facilitating continuous learning and knowledge sharing sessions within the chapter.
* Design innovative, sustainable solutions which are congruent with the strategic direction of the Bank.
* Provide technical leadership and guidance on the testing strategy, design, and implementation of testing frameworks.
* Define and implement best practices, solutions and standards related to your area of expertise.
* Stay current with industry trends and drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to solve complex problems.
* Challenge the 'status quo' and influence key stakeholders to ensure industry best practice is adhered to within your area of expertise.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product owners, business analysts and development teams to ensure alignment on technical roadmaps.

Required Skills and Experience
* Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in quality assurance and automation, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity.
* Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, and developing a team of QA engineers, with a proven track record of facilitating career growth and skill transformation (e.g., manual to automation).
* Well versed in testing techniques while having strong knowledge of testing types and tools.
* Solid programming skills in Java for developing robust and scalable test automation frameworks and scripts. Hands-on experience with tools like Selenium WebDriver, REST Assured, JUnit/TestNG leveraging Java, Cucumber/Gherkin, and cloud technologies.
* Proven experience with Agile methodologies and SDLC. Excellent knowledge of testing techniques (Black Box, White Box, System, Integration, Regression, Performance, Security).
* Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
* Good understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) with the ability to write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation.
* Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using modern tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
* Excellent analytical and communication skills, strong independence, and initiative.
* Proficiency in spoken and written English (Business fluency is mandatory).
* Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent).
Nice-to-Have:
* Experience in the financial services industry, with knowledge of Wealth Management or other financial products.
* Experience in coordinating testing activities across multiple scrum teams or projects.
* Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
