Job Title: Communications Manager (FTC 14 months)
Location: SPHQ, Glasgow
Yearly salary from £59,200 to £74,000 + up to 15% bonus and Private Medical Insurance

What you'll be doing
The Transmission Communications Manager is a key role in the Transmission Stakeholder Engagement & Communications team, with responsibility for the development and delivery of effective internal and external communications across the transmission business whilst also contributing to wider SPEN communications.
* Develop and deliver effective communications strategies for SPEN transmission activities such as our Core, Strategic & HVDC transmission projects and our community benefit funding initiative.
* Work closely with the full Transmission Stakeholder & Communications Team, as well as wider SPEN/SP comms, stakeholder & corporate colleagues to ensure communications present a consistent picture and include a link back to an overarching message strategy for the business.
* Lead efforts to positively promote the Transmission Business to other parts of SP Energy Networks, ScottishPower and Iberdrola Group.
* Produce content for key internal communications channels and audiences - such as newsletters, briefings, events etc as required by the business.
* Work with design and marketing, media buying, PR and creative agencies, videography contractors and photographers as required.
* Creation of external communications and marketing assets to support our vision and position across a variety of channels and formats - raising awareness/understanding and support of key projects, our investment, community funding available, events etc.
* Actively manage, develop and maintain a range of external communication channels (website, webinars, events, social media channels, printed materials, videos, etc).
* Support members of the leadership team and senior management with external facing materials as required, ensuring consistency in our position and key messages.
* Provide direction and support to other internal colleagues on effective communications approaches for projects and business activities as required.
* Represent SPEN at relevant forums to ensure effective input and informing of wider industry communications, campaigns and activities.
* Continually measure the effectiveness of all communications, gathering stakeholder feedback and striving for continuous improvements and positive results from the implementation of effective communication strategies.
What you'll bring
* Proven track record of developing and delivering internal and external communications strategies.
* Experience within a similar sector/regulated environment desirable.
* Ability to translate technical and often complex topics for a variety of audiences, channels and formats.
* Experience in working with project teams to identify key comms milestones and opportunities aligned to project milestones and objectives.
* Excellent planning and organisation skills.
* Experience in briefing and managing external creative, PR, marketing, media buying or similar agencies.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Professional qualification or equivalent role experience.
* Must be a team player with a flexible attitude and good inter-personal skills.
* Exceptional communication and influencing skills with a variety stakeholders - evidencing strong stakeholder management skills.
