Job Description

Purpose of the role
To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the banks internal control framework to support the mitigation of risk and protection of the banks operational, financial, and reputational risk.

Accountabilities
* Knowledge of business areas, products, processes and platforms to be able to assess risk
* Collaboration with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall control effectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.
* Identification and investigation of potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation aligned to the bank's control framework, prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations.
* Development of reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment including control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.
* Execution of reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework aligned to established and evolving policies, regulation, and best practice.
* Implementation of adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and set appropriate methodology of assessing controls against the Controls Framework.

We are seeking a Technology Controls Manager to join the Technology Controls team within Tesco Bank, part of Barclays. This is a fast-paced role supporting IT Security and Cyber, where you will implement, monitor and report on controls, helping to strengthen the overall control environment.
You will operate at pace, managing competing priorities while working independently and taking ownership for driving outcomes. The role requires strong judgement, the ability to think on your feet, and confidence to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including Director and MD level.
With a focus on continuous improvement, you will support internal and external audits and broader assurance activities, ensuring controls are robust, effective, and aligned to regulatory expectations. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrable experience and a proven track record in US SOX General IT Controls within a financial services environment.

To be successful as a Technology Controls Manager, you should have:
* Proven track record in implementing, monitoring and reporting of Technology and Cyber Controls.
* Experience in working with US SOX requirements within a financial services organisation for General IT Controls.
* Evidence of effective partnerships with Technology Directors and above.

Some other highly valued skills may include:
* Holding a relevant or equivalent ISACA qualification (CISM, CRISC, CISA, CISSP).

This role can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.
