Your impact
Leonardo have an exciting opportunity within the Operations Planning function for an Assistant Planning Manager who will be reporting to the Line of Business Planning Manager. You will be onsite during training and after that there is an opportunity to work a couple of days from home.

The role of the Assistant Planning Manager (Development) is to support the Planning Manager and other Ass. Planning Managers, where they will ensure the integrity and achievability of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) delivers the Line of Business requirements through engagement with all key stakeholders. Work with the Planning Manager to ensure all (Plant and Project) Inventory is optimised, delivering reviews/changes on safety time/stock including managing Dead Stock process. Responsible for monitoring and managing demand variability for internal make and external supply items, maintain supply chain master data. Support the cleanup of Overdue Supply including LTP (Late to Place) requisitions while working with Procurement to achieve this through Demand management and key stakeholder engagement.

What you'll bring
Support the Line of Business Planning Manager in -

* Developing into the role of Ass. Planning Manager.
* Work with the Planning Manager and other Ass. Planning Managers to support/maintain all aspects of existing MPS Demand Process including the transfer to, and manage thereafter, utilising the new SAP via "P6 process".
* Learn all aspects of how to run the standard Planning reports, understanding the need for all the data provided, while supporting Project meetings.
* Maintain all process documents in relation to the SAP "P6" Go Live process delivering key stakeholder buy-in/compliance.
* Support Planning Managers to ensure the creation of one manufacturing plan delivering key stakeholder buy-in/compliance (Manufacturing Project Manager/Project Leader, Manufacturing Team Leader, Procurement and Project Mangers) to ensure delivery of a robust plan for all MPS/MRP project deliverables from a manufacturing perspective.
* Support Planning Managers to ensure that the MPS and aggregated demand for relevant area including Firm projects and Prospects for the 3 month - 5 year window Labour & material including Forecast.
* Support the weekly Demand, Supply and Capacity meetings utilising all existing reporting tools (Including new dashboard based reporting).
* Support simulations, review demand and supply variability, escalate as require to procurement / project and maintain correct levels of safety stock & safety time
* Work with the Planning Manager to manage the Inventory & optimisation through life cycle in accordance with lean manufacturing principles, requirements and Site targets.
* Support the Disposal of Slow moving / dead stock
* Work with the Planning Manager to maintain data integrity ensuring effective resolution of any master data issues.
* If required support the management of Closed Projects.

Technical Skills/Knowledge:
* Knowledge in Planning, MPS & Inventory controls would be beneficial but Training will be given
* Knowledge of MRP principles (Demand & Supply)
* Knowledge of implementing & managing change
