Technology Graduate Programme
Join ING's UK Technology Graduate Scheme and embark on a structured and supportive journey through our technology department. The programme offers multiple potential starting roles, enabling you to build a broad understanding of our technology landscape while developing deeper expertise over time.
By the end of the programme, you will have developed a strong technical foundation, practical experience, and the confidence to take on a permanent role within ING or the wider financial services industry. You will be supported throughout via formal training, mentoring, and ongoing feedback.
Potential Role Types
Potential role types within the ING London Technology department include, but are not limited to:
DevOps Engineer
Work on automating and streamlining operations and processes, building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations.
Financial Markets Systems Engineer
Support and enhance systems used in financial markets, ensuring they meet the needs of traders and analysts.
Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Analyst
Identify, assess, and mitigate IT risks, ensuring the security and integrity of our internal and third-party systems.
Workplace Services Engineer
Manage and improve workplace technology services (O365, Windows), ensuring a seamless and efficient working environment with a strong focus on employee experience. Work closely with other IT support teams on projects and support a variety of technology solutions.
Business Management & Strategy
Work closely with both business and technology teams to ensure the organisation's technology architecture supports its business goals.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
* Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions, supported by experienced colleagues.
* Analyse and troubleshoot technical issues, escalating and learning where appropriate.
* Deliver consistent reporting and actionable insights relevant to your role.
* Build knowledge of emerging technologies and best practices through hands-on experience.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the technology function.
* Work alongside your fellow technology graduates on a team-led project, culminating in a presentation to senior leaders within the organisation.
Key Skills and Requirements

* Completed a bachelor's degree (BSc) by September 2026.
* Interest in and familiarity with modern technologies such as generative AI and automation tools (hands-on experience can be developed during the programme).
* Foundational understanding of troubleshooting concepts.
* Exposure to programming languages or frameworks (e.g. Java, .NET) through study, projects, or early experience.
* Understanding of basic project delivery principles and working in agile environments.
* Comfortable using data or analytical approaches to support problem solving.
* Strong communication skills and a professional, collaborative approach.
* Curious mindset with an interest in improving processes through technology and automation.
* Ability to build positive working relationships across teams.
* Proactive attitude toward learning, feedback, and continuous improvement.
