Job Summary

What is the opportunity?

The Legal Technology team manages and supports the Law Group's technology applications. This includes maintaining and producing application enhancements and support applications. In this role, you are responsible for supporting development activities. Strong communication skills are essential as you will work with end-users to gather requirements and contribute towards the development of new web applications while sustaining and enhancing existing production systems. Detailed knowledge of Python and .Net Core (C#), SQL and Python is mandatory for the success of this role.

Job Description

What will you do?

* Support the development, design, and maintenance of services within the Legal Technology app dev portfolio
* Provide guidance and expertise for Python solutions
* Create, design, analyze, develop and debug
* Various tasks such as updating table entries, create program variants
* Develop interfaces to transfer data between two systems
* Review team documentation and provide feedback
* Develop accurate estimates for completion of technical tasks
* Develop web applications
* Application testing (creating test cases based on requirements and perform testing)
* Work with stakeholders to design new features and applications - including requirements gathering, development, implementation
* Participate in Agile sprint planning, reviews and create sprint stories in collaboration with application development team

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

* Enrolled in an undergraduate degree or college diploma in a technology related field
* Detailed knowledge of Python and .NET Core (C#), SQL and Python is mandatory for the success of this role
* Knowledge in front end and backend development
* Ability to successfully multi-task
* An understanding of SQL and databases
* Experience programming in one or more of the following languages: new JS library and HTML
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to have

* A comprehension of Agile delivery methodology and governance
* Experience with API, Git and/or Tableau
* A working knowledge of Microsoft SQL servers and/or RDBMS
* Knowledge working with JIRA and Confluence for collaboration/documentation

Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Fall 2024 Student placement with a start date of September 3, 2024 and end date of December 13, 2024. In order to be eligible for this 4-month student position, you must either:

* Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of December 13, 2024 ; or
* If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in December 2024), you must require the full 4-month work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
