As a Student Lab Technician, you will gain hands-on laboratory experience while supporting environmental, materials, and infrastructure projects across the region. Working alongside experienced technicians and technologists, you will apply what you are learning in school to real-world testing and analysis that helps build healthier, more resilient communities.
This role is ideal for students or recent graduates who are curious, detail-oriented, and eager to grow their technical skills in a professional laboratory environment.
Your Impact
In this role, you will:
* Support routine laboratory testing by following established methods and quality procedures
* Prepare, label, and process samples for chemical, physical, or geotechnical analysis
* Operate standard laboratory equipment under supervision and assist with basic maintenance
* Follow health, safety, and quality protocols to help ensure accurate and reliable results
* Record observations and results clearly in logs, templates, and digital systems
* Assist senior staff by organizing samples, maintaining clean work areas, and supporting day-to-day lab operations
The Skills That Set You Apart
* Currently enrolled in a college diploma or certificate in environmental technology, chemistry, materials science, or a related program
* Academic, co-op, internship, or part-time laboratory experience where attention to detail and following procedures were essential
* Familiarity with basic lab equipment such as balances, ovens, sieves, and pH meters
* Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs as part of routine laboratory work
* A strong interest in hands-on technical work, with a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $22.00 - $25.50
MB & ON: $20.50-$24.00
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $19.50- $23.00
