Internship dates: August 31st to December 18th, 2026.
Location: The position is based at our Mississauga location; internship from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.

Why join our team?
The student will be part of the advanced performance engineering team and will have access to the experience, tools, and data available within this organization. The focus will be on research, modeling, and analysis of engine performance and non-CO2 climate impacts, particularly how these are quantified in engine performance.
The position is based at our Mississauga location, from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?
* Support the Advanced Performance team in evaluating engine performance of current and future products.
* Develop expertise in aviation climate science and metrics appropriate for engine design.
* Improve and deploy aviation contrail modeling methods within P&WC
* Develop and execute large-scale contrail simulations using P&WC HPC resources
* Contribute to developing an engine performance modeling framework for non-CO2 effects.
* Investigate the effects of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Hydrogen on non-CO2 impacts
* Execute engine cycle simulations to evaluate non-CO2 performance metrics.
* Create and deliver presentations at team meetings (in person and teleconference).

What do you need to be successful?
* Be eligible to work in Canada.
* Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
* Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.
* Pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering, engineering science, applied computing, computer science, or mechanical engineering
* Experience with multidisciplinary physics-based modeling (e.g. physics, mathematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and algorithm development)
* Advanced python skills with experience in memory optimization, object-oriented programming, and multiprocessing
* Experience working in shell / HPC environments
* Experience handling and processing large data sets using Excel, Python, and/or Matlab
* Self-driven, critical thinking and curiosity
* Effective communication and documentation using MS office
* Fluent in English

Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

The salary range for this role is 23.10 to 33.30 CAD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
