Join us. **Job Description** AECOM's Enterprise Capabilities is looking to hire a **Civil Engineer Intern** to join our Madrid office. This is an exceptional opportunity to be involved with mega capital infrastructure projects across the different regions supported by our **Ground Engineering and Tunnelling** team. The ideal candidate for us must be interested in developing her/his professional career in the Ground Engineering and underground works environment. The objective of the position is to work in multidisciplinary engineering team and **develop technical capabilities** as Geotechnical/Tunnelling Engineer, collaborating in water and transportation projects along the full design live cycle (Feasibility studies, concept and detailed designs, tender services, etc). Job Responsibilities: + Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. + Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study. + Be integral member of a multicentric and multicultural Ground Engineering and Tunnelling design group. + Assist on the development **Soil-Structure interaction modelling** (FLAC 3D, Plaxis, SAP2000) **for underground works** (Tunnels, Stations, Caverns and shafts) + Supports Tunnelling Junior and Senior Engineers in major infrastructure projects. + Collaborates with other design disciplines. If you are looking to start your career in a leading international Engineering firm, this is your opportunity. **Qualifications** + You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's in **Civil Engineering** , **Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos** , or **Geological Engineering** , and can sign a **university internship agreement** . * Academic foundation in **soil mechanics** , **geotechnical engineering** , and/or **rock mechanics** . * Availability to complete an internship during the academic year or summer (please indicate your weekly hours and preferred start date). * Communication skills: Spanish at professional working proficiency; English at B2+/C1 level (spoken and written). * Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD). **Additional Information** **About AECOM** AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
