Engineering Internship

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Maintain shop floor standardized work instructions.

* Support plant engineering team with layout adjustments and improvements

* Lead productivity improvement projects to reduce scrap, handling, and overall cost of non-quality.

* Support pre-production and production runs with production team.

* Assist production managers in defining Standard Operation Procedures for production operators, creating work instructions and train production teams.

* Maintain plant wide tracking for standard work revisions including dates issued, and new requests.

* Responsible for organizing plant flow and storage strategy

* Design and build prototype fixtures, racks, and jigs to prove concept and deploy to production

* Participate in time studies from initial data collection, to conclusion and lead process adjustments accordingly.

* Manage layout realization and implement on the production floor.

* Follow supplier projects from initial quotation phase to implementation.

* Lead punch list process for equipment

Qualifications:

* Available for immediate start in this internship.

* Capable of working a minimum of 20-40 hours per week.

* Willing to commit to a one-year tenure with a flexible work schedule to accommodate school commitments.

* Able to work on-site at the plant location.

* Must be currently working on a bachelors degree in Engineering.

* Proficient in Excel at an advanced level.

* Knowledgeable in Microsoft Power Point.
