This classification requires on-the-job training and\u003cbr\u003eperformance of diverse assignments in the research\u003cbr\u003eand development shop for the purpose of acquiring\u003cbr\u003etraining and experience to satisfactorily perform the\u003cbr\u003edistinguishing requirements of the following\u003cbr\u003eclassification: ADP Laboratory Mechanic. The\u003cbr\u003ecandidate is expected to perform such related duties\u003cbr\u003eas: blue print reading and analysis, create lay-ups,\u003cbr\u003emust be able to work with hand tools, tooling\u003cbr\u003eexperience, some machine shop experience, and must\u003cbr\u003ebe able to interpret engineering sketches.\u003cbr\u003eEngineering Research Shops Trainee (RP4054) \u003cbr\u003eStanding: Requires full time standing with limited\u003cbr\u003eresting periods and to walk distances. Sit for extended\u003cbr\u003eperiods if required.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eHeights: Able to work at heights. Able to climb stairs\u003cbr\u003eor ladders as required. Able to work off of step stools,\u003cbr\u003eScissor lifts, lift platforms and aircraft structure\u003cbr\u003ewithout handrails.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eOverhead work: Able to work overhead as required.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWeight restriction: Able to Lift/push/pull/carry a\u003cbr\u003eminimum of 25 lbs.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBody positioning: Able to twist/bend (neck or waist)\u003cbr\u003eand stoop. Able to work in awkward positions as\u003cbr\u003erequired. Able to squat/kneel/crawl/reach as\u003cbr\u003erequired.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWork content: Able to use/hold/manipulate small\u003cbr\u003etools and parts with hands. Simple grasping, power\u003cbr\u003egrasping and fine manipulation is required. Able to\u003cbr\u003euse vibrating tools and perform torqueing operations.\u003cbr\u003eAble to use power equipment. Repetitive tasks will be\u003cbr\u003eperformed. Able to use computer keyboard, mouse and monitor for extended periods of time.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eVision/Hearing: High level Hand/Eye coordination\u003cbr\u003erequired. Corrective lenses may be used. Eye\u003cbr\u003eprotection required in many instances. Color\u003cbr\u003edifferentiation may be required. Must be able to hear at level required for positions.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eEnvironmental: Able to work around noise, chemicals,\u003cbr\u003efumes and dust. Capable of using respirators and\u003cbr\u003eother personal protective equipment including\u003cbr\u003ehearing protection if required. Able to work outside if\u003cbr\u003eneeded.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAttendance: Regular attendance required based on\u003cbr\u003eset work schedule. \u003cbr\u003eVehicles/Power moving equipment: Able to operate\u003cbr\u003eas required.
