This position is expected to start around May or June 2026 and continue through the Summer term (ending approximately August 2026) or continuing into Fall 2026 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

As Tesla advances its RoboTaxi and autonomous vehicle initiatives, we are seeking a proactive and analytical individual to support the planning, execution, and optimization of Robotaxi maintenance operations. The Project Manager Intern will play a critical role in ensuring seamless integration of RoboTaxi systems with field service workflows, driving efficiency, and supporting data-driven decision-making. This position requires a blend of technical curiosity, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to scale autonomous vehicle operations. This role involves analyzing and improving existing processes, providing feedback to stakeholders, and collaborating with teams to implement changes. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of Tesla's operations and be able to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

What You'll Do

* Build and maintain dashboards to track critical KPIs (e.g., fleet management, technician efficiency, service cycle times) using Excel or internal Tesla tools
* Analyze data and performance metrics to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process optimization in RoboTaxi operations
* Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine operational documents, workflows, and process standards for RoboTaxi service initiatives
* Conduct time studies and process reviews to evaluate efficiency and recommend improvements for RoboTaxi deployment and maintenance initiatives
* Travel to field sites as needed to validate processes, gather feedback, and support on-ground implementation of Robo operations
* Work cross-functionally with the service team to ensure alignment, resolve integration challenges, and improve collaboration between Robo operations and customer-facing support teams
* Support the execution of RoboTaxi service programs, including scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination with regional teams
* Assist in the execution of key initiatives, including production planning, shop loading, scheduling, and mobile service response
* Partner with other regional teams on best practices and recommendations

What You'll Bring

* Proficiency in Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and other MS Suite tools (PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
* Background in operations, project management, or autonomous systems (preferred)
* Ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to dynamic environments
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, service, operations)
* Willingness to work overnight shifts (less than 5% of the time) for time studies and operational analysis
* Willingness to travel across Arizona, Nevada, Texas as needed to support RoboTaxi operations
* Willingness to travel to other regions as needed
