Vacatureomschrijving:

As an intern Software Engineer (DevOps), you will contribute to the continuous improvement of the software development process for Lely's Astronaut milking robot. This process relies on a complex landscape of CI/CD pipelines that support the build, testing and packaging of embedded Linux applications. During this internship, you will research how this landscape can be simplified and made more efficient, and you will translate your findings into a concrete and implementable solution.
Your main responsibilities include:
* Analysing the current CI/CD pipelines and identifying pain points and inefficiencies
* Researching modern and best-in-class DevOps practices relevant to embedded Linux environments
* Designing an improved DevOps approach or architecture based on your research findings
* Implementing and validating the proposed solution in a practical setting
* Collaborating with software engineers and DevOps specialists to gather insights and feedback
* Documenting your research, design choices and implementation results clearly and structurally

Functie-eisen:

You are a curious and analytical student with a strong interest in software engineering and DevOps. You enjoy combining research with hands-on implementation and are motivated to learn new technologies in a professional environment.
You bring:
* A relevant education background in Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering
* Basic knowledge of Git and version control concepts
* Basic experience with the Linux command line
* Familiarity with Linux and bash scripting, or the motivation to quickly develop these skills
* An interest in DevOps principles and automation, prior knowledge is considered a bonus
* A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently while seeking collaboration when needed
