A Day in the Life

The Application Support Intern will join the Strategic Marketing Intelligence (SMI) team to support application testing, user support and continuous improvement of digital tools across the EurAsia region. This role is a great opportunity for a student in software engineering or a related field to gain practical experience in application support, issue triage, testing and stakeholder collaboration within a regional business environment.
Working as part of a cross-functional team, the Application Support Intern will collaborate with marketing, IT, analytics teams and external development partners to help validate workflows, document and reproduce issues, support end users and maintain support materials. The role also offers exposure to business applications, data flows and system integrations, while contributing to the overall quality, usability, and reliability of tools used across the organization.

Internship details:
* Start date: June/July
* Location: Istanbul, Turkiye
* Duration: 6 months
* Working hours: 30-40 hrs. Flexible during exams and holiday period
* Work model: Hybrid (3 days in the office)

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
* Assist in testing and quality assurance activities for internal software applications, including execution of test scenarios, workflow validation and documentation of results.
* Support issue triage by collecting relevant information, reproducing reported problems and helping determine whether issues relate to software defects, configuration, data or user error.
* Prepare and maintain accurate documentation in ticketing systems, including problem statements, reproduction steps, screenshots and expected versus actual outcomes.
* Collaborate with development, IT, business stakeholders and external partners to support defect resolution, clarify requirements and ensure effective coordination across teams.
* Provide first-line support for application-related user questions and contribute to timely follow-up, status communication and resolution tracking.
* Maintain support documentation, including FAQs, troubleshooting guides and known-issues logs, while identifying recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
* Develop a foundational understanding of application data, integrations and reporting workflows to support testing activities and alignment with business requirements.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Recently graduated or in the final year of studies in Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
* Fluency in English and Turkish
* Familiarity with software testing, application support or quality assurance principles.
* Exposure to low-code platforms (e.g. Outsystems, Mendix).
* Experience using ticketing or issue-management tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or equivalent.
* Working knowledge of SQL for basic data validation, troubleshooting and analysis.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to document issues clearly, including reproduction steps, observations and outcomes.

Would be a plus:
* Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a structured way.
* Interest in learning about data flows, system integrations and how applications support business processes.
