EAVI is an independent, non-profit international association working in the field of media literacy and education. Its primary objective is to promote the interests of citizens as media users across Europe. To achieve its objective, EAVI develops and implements a wide range of activities that involve citizens and organizations from many of the 28 EU Member States. EAVI aims to:

• Promote active citizenship and media literacy and education;
• Promote good practices in media use which is crucial for fostering democratic growth, civic awareness and communication welfare;
• Engage the interests of European Institutions and influence relevant EU policies in order to encourage media users’ interests to be better reflected in policy decisions.

In order to achieve its objective, EAVI carries out activities focusing mainly on citizenship and media literacy.
