We are looking for a Design Ops Manager to take ownership of the design system for our strategic cloud solutions, including payment applications and device management platforms.
This role is highly focused on design system strategy, governance, quality, and execution, working at the intersection of design, front-end engineering, and product.
The initial focus is on building and managing the full lifecycle of design systems. Over time, the scope will expand to broader Design Operations topics, including tooling, workflows, and team enablement.
Key Responsibilities
Design System Ownership & Governance
* Own the cloud design system end-to-end, ensuring high standards of usability, accessibility, scalability, and consistency
* Define and safeguard design system rules, quality standards, and contribution models
* Ensure the system is up-to-date, well-documented, and aligned with product and engineering needs
* Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and technical/design debt, and drive continuous improvement
Component Management & Design Collaboration
* Manage, review, and evolve the full library of design system components
* Collaborate closely with designers to translate product needs into components, patterns, and guidelines
* Create, refine, and maintain reusable components with clarity and scalability in mind
* Act as the central point of contact for design system questions and decisions
Engineering Collaboration & Implementation Quality
* Partner closely with front-end teams maintaining the coded design system
* Ensure design-to-code consistency and high-quality implementation
* Review usage patterns and ensure correct adoption across products
* Align designers and developers on standards, constraints, and best practices
Standards, Accessibility & Quality
* Champion UI quality, accessibility, and consistency across all cloud products
* Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
* Monitor and continuously improve UI quality enabled by the design system
Vision, Proactivity & Continuous Improvement
* Own the vision and roadmap for the design system aligned with product and technical strategy
* Identify and propose improvements in tools, workflows, and processes (including AI-assisted solutions where relevant)
* Continuously optimize how the design system is created, managed, and adopted
Design Operations (Future Scope)
Gradually expand responsibilities to include:
* Design tooling and setup
* Workflow optimization
* Cross-team alignment and enablement
* Improving design team effectiveness and scalability
Requirements
* 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, design systems, or design operations
* Proven experience owning or scaling a design system across multiple teams or products
* Strong knowledge of UI design, interaction design, accessibility, and responsive systems
* Advanced proficiency in Figma and production-level design systems (e.g., Maestro or similar)
* Solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, SASS); experience with React teams is a strong plus
* Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and design leadership
* Proactive mindset combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution
* Comfortable working in a global, cross-functional, and remote-friendly environment
