CIA France -Centre International d'Antibes reviews

ABOUT
An accredited school in exceptional surroundings!

"Le Château" is a stunning Provençal building in a quiet area close to the town centre and our residences. The classrooms are spacious and equipped with the latest audiovisual material.

There is a great view of Antibes’ port and the Baie des Anges (Bay of Angels) from the school’s open air terrace.

Overall
During my stay at CIA, the staff was being really nice and friendly. Even though the University's location was beautiful, the class rooms were really small and sticky with only one ventilator in midsummer.

The Chateua is miles away from the Hotel! On their website they say it is  1,2 km from Aragon-Residence to the school. In fact it is 1,6 km away, goes up and down the hill and the last 600 meters are very steep! One of the older students nearly collapsed when he reached the school. The whole school has 4 Toilets (without toilet-seats and they are absolutely disgusting). There are no coffee-shops, shops  or restaurants close by. That means that you have to walk in the break for another 15 minutes down the hill in order to get something to eat or to drink. The machines in the school for water and coffee are always out of order and the whole school is pretty dirty.

The teachers: I can only speak for Alexandra and Olivier. Alexandra is a gem, it is really great to have her as a teacher. Olivier is good too though different. The teaching material is horrible too. The photocopies were not readable!!

About Aragon-Residence: Quite nice rooms but very small . I dont know how 2 people can live in it. The whole place is loud as you can hear everything your neighbour is doing and you hear the people sitting outside. Be aware of the Boss, he can be very abravise if you have a complaint. He chareges 5 Euro for wireless Lan.

All together: I would not recommend the school or the Aragon Residence. They should be more honest about explaining about it.

Pros
Only the teacher Alexandra.
Cons
The toilets are horrific! The long ways to the school, to the Hotel, to the beach and to the city are terrible, nothing around to get food or drinks!

I didn't like to say that, but Antibes is not a good city for learning the language it is very small and has not much to offer. I recommend Nice or Montpellier more.

The school rooms were small but it was ok for the two weeks. I was sometimes much sweating cause we didn't open the window.
