Enforex Barcelona reviews

ABOUT
Enforex Barcelona is our largest Spanish school in Spain at a 550 student capacity, which makes it great for socializing and meeting new friends from all over the world. Even better, Spanish students take English, French and German language classes here, which means you can sign up for free language exchanges and mingle with natives on a daily basis.

This school and it's partner school Don Quixote, are a waste of MONEY!!!! Their websites boast that their teachers are all university educated and speaks multiple foreign languages, FALSE! Most of the teachers do not, which is not a problem unless you are the in beginner's level like I was. None of the staff members did either, making inquiring about anything (school related, accommodation, or even excursions) very difficult. The Spanish teachers are out of work Spaniards that can't find a job in their field of study during the country's Economic Crisis, therefore will take this teaching job that only pays them 8Euros/hr. And their work ethic reflects their wages. I had a teacher that sat in her chair just talking to the students about their weekend, and when she's ask to spell anything out, she'll just pronounce it really slowly. When you asked her to slow down (the Spanish have a reputation for speaking fast), she'll yell at you and say that, "this is how Spanish people speak and if you were going to live here, you will have to catch up"!. Remember, this is a beginner's course and you are paying thousands of dollars to take lesson from this person. When I complained about it, they just said they spoke to her and apologizes on her behalf. That's it, that's how much my thousands of dollars paid for.

SAVE YOUR MONEY! There are so many accredited language schools out there all over Spain that are much MUCH cheaper and much better in quality. Enforex & Don Quixote care more about showing the students a good time through the many planned repeated excursions than in quality learning.

Pros
meeting classmates from around the world
Cons
the low quality teachers: most don't really care

the female ones were bitchy and lazy and the male ones hooks up with their students (i know from first hand experience b/c i hooked up with one of my teacher and he confess that he has sex with a least one student a year!)

My 11-yr old daughter attended this summer camp after studying Spanish in school for two years.  The program was a complete waste!  They do not do placements for kids under 13, so she was completely bored!  The brochure for English speaking parents make is sound like the child will be rooming with Spanish kids learning English, actually they room with kids from all over the world learning English - so Spanish is rarely spoken.

The staff was very friendly, but there was way too much time spent "hanging out" and texting.  Everytime I visited the camp, there were loads of kids in the main hall on their phones.  The afternoon programs were great - but they keep the kids up until past 11pm and get them up at 7:30am - not enough sleep for most kids to be in the position of learning.

I would not recommend it for anyone under 13!

Pros
The Staff was very friendly and nice
Cons
The actual language courses were very weak!  Furthermore, the program did not allow kids enough sleep to be able to be in a learning mode.  Also too much downtime given to kids to allow texting.

Actually I did go to Enforex Barcelona but to Enforex Madrid... but it was not suggested in the list. For speaking with other students who went to both, I know that they were exactly the same.

Sorry for my English (google translator). I left teh same review in other webs because this is what I think:

I'm French, but my mum was from Spain, she married with my French dad. I know some Spanish because my mum but she died and I don't want to forget my mother's language and I want to read in Spanish.

Enforex gave me all I wanted: good accomodation, good classes, good environment, good people. Everything was good for me. That was my experience. And I am not a child.

I went to Enforex Marbella last summer bt I can't find the page about it here, so i write in Barcelona. I can say the school and teachers are quite good and accommodation was quite comfortable, air conditioned (Marbella is hot!), clean and not too many people.

Rude, mocking and clueless counsellors who laugh at the kids among each other, have no control, ignore the issues of the children, are mean and brutal with them and simply make the whole experience so awful for them, especially the little ones. They treat everyone as inferiors, ridiculing them and talking them down rather than being polite, and bang violently on the doors in the morning. It is hard to manage so many kids but there are other ways than being traumatic.

Activities not suited to teenagers. Overall, the experience is awful, disgraceful and misleading
