Teachers are sometimes absolutely not able to speak English. French and Spanish students are sometimes really hard to understand because of there pronunciation. In everyday life the differences are very high. Some Greek people got strange or even angry when you don't speak Greek. A big surprise was that lots of very young people were already able to speak English.

Sometimes the Greeks do not speak english very good. But at least it is no problem to live there without the greek language, but i would recommend everybody to learn the basics, specially the spelling.

main language is english, therefore this language is improved at most, greek language, hardly not usable in everydays life, since the basics dont help too much

Not many people can speak English in Athens. But they are very helpful and friendly most of the time, so in the end it was no problem to understand each other.

if you want to learn greek, try to get into contact with local students. being in the country is the best way to learn it. at university and with other exchange students you will mostly english, which also improves your language skills.

the language skills of the teachers were differnet, but all of them were trying to do their best.
