We are looking to recruit a passionate & driven Assistant Transformation Manager (Maximising Days at Sea) to support the Lead Transformation Manager in the delivery of efficiencies and future margin growth on the high-profile programme of SSOP / M-SET.

Our opportunity

(COMPANY NAME)'s services assure the performance of complex systems to navies around the world. At (COMPANY NAME) in the UK, the SSOP (Sensor Support Optimisation Program) / M-SET (Maritime Sensors Enhancement Team) contract supports sonar systems, periscopes and electronic warfare systems across the fleet of the Royal Navy.

There is a strategic opportunity to optimise the People, Processes and Tools that underpin the success of the SSOP / MSET contract; ensuring operational success for the Royal Navy. Furthermore, (COMPANY NAME) in the UK is growing their tools and technology to deliver outstanding customer service.

This critical role Within your day-to-day activities, you will be responsible for the delivery of transformation activities; realising 9 existing business cases, while helping to identify and implement further optimisation / growth opportunities.
To create and maintain tangible continuous improvement plans for more efficient M-SET Delivery, you will work collaboratively with the Naval customer within the Joint Operations Centre.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an innovative forward-thinker, who is a self-starter and is highly organised. There will be multiple opportunities for travel in support of service delivery to the Royal Navy.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Support to SSOP/M-SET:
1) Understand customer expectations of delivery as part of the transition between SSOP and M-SET and ensure value driven solutions

2) Your Primary focus will be to:
* Work closely with the central services team to ensure the waterfront transformation activities are implemented against the required timelines
* Build strong relationships with lead stakeholders across the four waterfront locations.
* Ensure the real estate acquisitions progress and any delays and blockers flagged immediately for resolution.
* Track business case realisation and report on KPI performance.
* Identify root cause of any efficiencies that are not hitting anticipated lead times for immediate intervention and resolution.

3) Furthermore, you will work closely with the Lead Transformation Manager to:
* Support the shaping, value and delivery of the existing portfolio of projects and change initiatives to enhance our service capability
* Build strong relationships with business partners within central functions, including operations, engineering, services and people with all aspects regarding M-SET Transformation
* Assist in the delivery of established plans and show, with evidence, that they are successful. Escalate any blockers or issues to the Lead Transformation Manager and Project Director
* Ensure that the business case realisation project plan is running to schedule and communicate delays to ensure the impact is minimised
* Actively contribute towards the creation and maintenance of a collaborative Joint Operation Centre of Excellence for the project
* Proactively identify other opportunities for service transformation
* Conduct forward planning for project activities to support the generation of relevant development plans
* Promote and ensure best practice in Services Activities
* Identify and manage resistance to change

4) Conduct Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to keep up to date with new technologies and developments. Also, build on your understanding of tools and leading technologies, which can be used to deliver value.

5) Promote a positive image of Services and our strategy/delivery.

Process and Techniques:
* To be familiar and adhere to the processes and techniques employed by the Function.
* To support the review of the processes and techniques to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
* To ensure that tools sets, approaches or functional decisions support our processes

About You
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and an ability to work co-operatively with others, creating and harnessing a team spirit within and across other company sites

Additional Requirements for this role
* A Services and/or change leadership background is preferred
* An innovative forward thinker would be ideal
* Dockyard Experience is a bonus
* A background working with the Navy is preferred
