Location: Edinburgh

Contract: 12 months

Salary: £12ph

Programme information

Our traineeship will introduce you to investment management and you will gain industry knowledge, experience and build relationships enabling you to progress your career and provide you with skills to secure a permanent role. We will also support you in achieving an industry recognised professional qualification. As part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with over 300 trainees across the industry and participate in socials and insight events.

Our trainee programme is a fixed term one year contract paying £12ph. You will receive 27 days annual leave plus 9 public holidays. You will also be entitled to take 2 paid Volunteering days. The primary location for these roles is Edinburgh. There will be an opportunity to work some days of the week from home.

Job Overview

The Compliance team provides compliance risk identification, assessment, independent testing, monitoring, and reporting to senior management. Risk-based testing and monitoring occur throughout the year. We are a team of c. 80 risk and compliance specialists, based in 6 countries, forming the (COMPANY NAME) AM second line of defence.

Responsibilities Of This Team Include

* Effectively administering compliance programs that are globally co-ordinated where appropriate and designed to serve the local compliance program responsibilities.
* Working as one to adopt and sustain effective and proactive compliance functions with specific focus on policies, procedures, testing, monitoring, and training tailored to local regulatory requirements.
* Increasing global alignment of compliance processes and standards to develop deep knowledge and skills that extend across the local affiliate's compliance programs.

You will sit within the (COMPANY NAME) AM Risk & Compliance UK team and mainly support the Compliance team on both routine and ad-hoc projects.

Tasks Will Include (training Will Be Provided)

* Support delivery on annual (COMPANY NAME) AM UK Annual Compliance Program such as Conduct risk, Senior Manager and Certification Regime (SMCR), Regulatory Reporting, Policy management.
* Shadow Compliance Officer to understand function/purpose
* Build skills to prioritise and be proactive
* Ability to form close working relationships across the business
* Build an understanding regulation and of the regulatory change process and how it impacts (COMPANY NAME) AM

Requirements

If you are a school/college leaver who has a curiosity about working within risk and compliance and has the following attributes, we are interest in hearing from you:

* Use of Microsoft office package including Word, PowerPoint etc
* Excellent communication & interpersonal skills and ability to learn and work as part of a team
* Enthusiasm, independent thinking and consistent work levels
* Critical thinker and an eye for detail.

Preferred Qualifications

* English - Nat level or equivalent and a further education qualification (e.g. Highers, Scotvec, HNCs, HNDs).
