Job Description:

The mission of the VIE Asset Maintenance Engineer is to define, structure, and deploy a Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) approach for all manufacturing assets at Safran Burnley. This role is a temporary, project-based mission aimed at improving equipment reliability and reducing operational risks. Over the 12-month project, the VIE will review existing maintenance practices, formalize maintenance standards, and ensure the effective transfer of knowledge and processes to internal teams. The mission is designed to become self-sustaining, with responsibilities progressively handed over to the Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Maintenance departments by the end of the assignment. Key aspects of the mission include: Assessing all manufacturing equipment from a maintenance and reliability perspective Defining appropriate maintenance levels and schedules based on asset criticality and process requirements Deploying TPM standards in collaboration with operators and engineering teams Supporting cross-functional stakeholders through regular reviews and progress updates Ensuring process ownership is transferred to internal teams at the conclusion of the project This mission offers strong exposure to industrial asset management, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration, while delivering tangible long-term benefits to the site

Candidate Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline A successful candidate will have a good general mechanical engineering background and have experience in different types of manufacturing processes and assets. A bachelors degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or other suitable discipline will be required. A good candidate will be self motivated and driven by a wish to improve the performance of a process, reliability of equipment and their own understanding and knowledge of different manufacturing processes. A good candidate will be self motivated and able to communicate with different levels in the business (shop floor to senior management) adapting their language and styles to suit the intended audience and stake holder
